Social responsibility

Based on our own situation, we have formulated a plan to help achieve the goals for peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality. This plan includes building green factories, using clean energy and recyclable materials, preparing a white paper on the goal to become carbon neutral, publishing a CSR report about greenhouse gas emissions, and managing the carbon footprint of our products throughout their lifecycle. The plan can be activated at any time if needed.

We have an Energy Management Policy along with various measures for reducing energy consumption. They are formulated to address global water shortage and get aligned with the Chinese Government’s policy encouraging the use of clean electricity from diverse sources. For example, we encourage our plants to use electricity during different periods of a day, to improve the heating process, and to adopt waste heat recovery in an effort to increase steam utilization. We also ask them to inspect equipment dealing with water or steam on a regular basis, to recycle water, and to drain equipment regularly.

We screen our suppliers as an important part of our supply chain on a regular basis and manage them level-by-level. We sync the data of each other electronically, to ensure that their raw materials come from legitimate sources, their production processes are compliant with related standards, and their production management systems are rigorous and effective. This also ensures that our strategic suppliers can improve their efficiency and productivity, and we have a sufficient pool of potentially qualified suppliers for sustainable procurement.

We operate in 68 countries and regions worldwide. Following a global strategy, we value human rights, diversity, and inclusiveness. We have an Employee Handbook that is updated annually. We protect the health and safety of our employees as well as their right-to-know. Adopting good business ethics is the bottom line for us as a company. We follow both Chinese and international laws and regulations on business ethics. We have policies against corruption, bribery, and anti-competitive practices. We also have policies to encourage fair play, and to protect information security and confidentiality. We take measures to mitigate the risks of our global business activities.
